One Vision, One Direction | Baker Tilly International 2019 Asia Pacific Regional Conference Successfully Held
From May 31 to June 2, 2019, Baker Tilly International 2019 Asia Pacific Regional Conference of Baker Tilly International was held in Hangzhou, China. The theme of this conference is “One Vision, One Direction”. More than 110 partners from member firms in more than 20 countries and regions gathered together, shared insights as well as discussed how to make differences and achieve the vision for clients, people, and profession. Baker Tilly China Managing Partner, Mr. Justin Qiu, Senior Partner Mr. Jianjun Hu, and 16 others from Baker Tilly China attended this regional conference.
At the beginning of the conference, Mr. Justin Qiu expressed a warm welcome to all guests and shared the recently achievements of Baker Tilly China. In his speech, Mr. Justin Qiu mentioned that the world is changing every day, standing still is not an option. Success happens when we push forward. Baker Tilly China hopes to connect more closely with member firms to make a difference for our clients, our people, our communities and our profession.
Subsequently, Baker Tilly International CEO, Mr. Ted Verkade, and directors of global office reviewed the major events that had taken place in the global network over the past year.
As the further development of information technology, artificial intelligence has become a popular field. Mr. Steven Lin, Director of the Baker Tilly China Financial Robot Team, introduced the financial robot “Play Robot” independently developed by Baker Tilly China. He showed its applications in the scenarios of bank reconciliation, tax declaration, invoice issuance, billing notice, image recognition and others. Baker Tilly China believes that through the vast resources of the global network service, the research field of Baker Tilly China financial robot will develop towards diversification and multi-dimensional, and promote "Chinese wisdom" to the world.
The conference also arranged keynote speeches about US& China Trade Tariffs, Asian Development Bank: Our wins, our opportunities, Great futures: talent attraction and retention, Global forensics and other topics by speakers from Baker Tilly in USA, Baker Tilly Pitcher Partners, BTVK Advisory and other member firms. It also invited representatives from listed company clients and professional service agencies to give a keynote speech on overseas M&A sharing and China overseas investment in the future. In addition, several group discussions focused on audit, tax, M&A, and government & non-profit organization projects were held.
During the conference, Baker Tilly China Shanghai office invited more than 30 partners in member firms and some clients to an international hotspot tax discussion summit, focusing on China-US trade, Brexit, the global anti-tax avoidance environment and other important issues which clients concerned, carried out in-depth exchanges and discussions with clients.
